Rice Krispie Treats with Sprinkles are an easy way to dress up the classic marshmallow bars without changing what makes them work. The base stays the same, buttery, soft, and chewy, while the sprinkles add a bit of color and a touch of extra sweetness.

If you like easy desserts with a fun finish, you might also enjoy my blondies with sprinkles, which have the same simple, crowd-pleasing appeal.

Since there’s no baking involved, the whole batch comes together quickly and sets up in the pan without much effort. It’s a dependable recipe you can turn to when you need something simple that still looks finished and ready to serve.

The sprinkles make them a little sweeter and more colorful, but the base is still the same buttery marshmallow and crisp rice cereal everyone expects.

  • Marshmallows: Regular marshmallows are great here, but you can swap with mini marshmallows if that’s what you have. Make sure they’re fresh, or they won’t melt as smoothly.

Turning a Classic Batch Into Party Bars

Step One: Make the Rice Krispie Mixture

Continue cooking until melted.

Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the cereal and sprinkles.

Keep the heat low: If the marshmallows get too hot, the mixture can turn thick and harder to stir. Make sure to use a heat resistant spatula so that it doesn’t melt.

Step Two: Press Into The Pan

An 8 x 8 baking pan is the perfect size for most dessert bars.

Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and gently press it into an even layer.

Pro Tip: If you hate fighting to keep the parchment paper out of your dessert bars, try some binding clips, they work perfectly!

These are the kind of treats you can make without overthinking, simple, dependable, and easy to share whenever you need something quick that still feels put together.
